Toronto and Baltimore
Noah Mills was born in Toronto in 1983 and grew up in Baltimore as the youngest of five children. Boarding school took him to Canada and Australia. He considered studying psychology before connecting with an agency in Vancouver. In a Vogue interview he recalled his sister encouraging him to try modeling after noticing a resemblance to men in magazines.[1][2]

Building an international modeling career
He moved to New York early in his modeling career and walked for Gucci and Yves Saint Laurent. A sustained relationship with Dolce & Gabbana became especially significant. In 2014 he said work with the designers helped him locate almost a decade of memories chronologically. Repeated bookings, rather than a single celebrated image, provided a framework for his professional development.[1][2]
Fragrance and global advertising
The 2009 Dolce & Gabbana Anthology fragrance campaign placed him alongside Claudia Schiffer, Naomi Campbell and Tyson Ballou. His wider portfolio included Tommy Hilfiger, Michael Kors and Gap. Fragrance advertising relies on character and atmosphere differently from a runway. This commercial range supplied a successful foundation, but also expectations when he began pursuing another profession.[1][3]
Early screen appearances
His screen appearances included Sex and the City 2 in 2010, the sitcom 2 Broke Girls and Taylor Swift’s 2012 video for We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together. Early roles often emphasized appearance. Later interviews acknowledged those opportunities while describing a desire for more substantial characterization. Recognition from advertising opened doors without automatically establishing him as an actor.[3][4]
Creating work and starting again
Writing and producing the short Wracked allowed him to develop a role himself, as discussed in a 2013 Out interview. He subsequently described learning that modeling success did not transfer directly to auditions. Starting again required preparation and accepting beginner status in another craft, sometimes at the expense of reliable fashion bookings.[4][5]
Establishing a television career
He joined the principal cast of The Brave in 2017, played Jason Bragg in The Enemy Within in 2019 and appeared in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier in 2021. From 2021 to 2024 he portrayed Jesse Boone in NCIS: Hawaiʻi. CBS’s official biography foregrounds these screen credits, reflecting a television career established beyond his fashion profile.[6]
A further television chapter
After NCIS: Hawaiʻi, Mills appeared as Beck Wythe in Watson’s second season. Episode records document appearances from October 2025 through April 2026. The television focus does not erase his earlier fashion work. His trajectory connects an international childhood, commercial modeling, self-produced film and continuing screen roles, showing a deliberate rebuilding of professional identity.[7]
