Growing up in Brazil
Francisco Lachowski was born in Curitiba, Brazil, in 1991 and is also known as Chico. He seriously considered tennis before practical constraints, including the expense of pursuing the sport, changed his direction. Modeling was not his only early ambition. Sport remained part of his life after he entered fashion.[1][2]

A competition and an international opening
Winning the Ford competition in São Paulo in 2008 opened international opportunities. Work in Milan and Paris followed in 2009, including Dior Homme and Gucci. The teenage competition success led to representation and overseas bookings, but professional routines such as casting, fittings and runway work still had to be learned.[1]
Campaigns and editorial work
Campaigns for Balmain, Hugo Boss, Etro, Armani Exchange and Tommy Hilfiger broadened the portfolio beyond Dior Homme. High-fashion shows and accessible casualwear reached different audiences. His youthful early image later appeared alongside more mature tailoring and portrait-led editorials, demonstrating how styling and performance can evolve around a recognizable face.[1][3]
An online audience and industry recognition
His images circulated widely on Tumblr and social media. Models.com records readers’ awards for social-media star in 2014 and male Model of the Year in 2016. These reader selections should be distinguished from industry voting and commercial bookings. His career also illustrates how professional fashion imagery acquires a second audience through online circulation.[2][3]
A family portrait project
He married fellow model Jessiann Gravel Beland in 2013. In 2019 the family collaborated with photographer Ricardo Gomes on a portrait book. A family publication differs from an advertising scenario, while still being a selected and edited record rather than unrestricted access to private life. His current agency biography describes him as a husband and father of three.[1][4][5]
Renewed attention to sport
At an On and Boiler Room event in Miami in 2025, he discussed sharing his long-standing interest in tennis with followers. His agency also documents a Wilson ambassadorship and participation in the Gran Fondo Strade Bianche with Tudor. These are sports and lifestyle collaborations, not evidence of a professional tour-playing career.[2][5]
Recent work and a changing routine
Recent editorial credits include L’Officiel Hommes Italia and Numéro Homme Switzerland in 2024 and Numéro Homme Netherlands in 2025. A September 2026 family interview described Florianópolis as their main base while international work travel continued. Fashion, family and sport now share the public narrative, extending rather than simply repeating his early breakthrough.[3][6]
