Early years in Spain

Born in 1978, Andrés Velencoso grew up closely associated with Tossa de Mar. Sources disagree about the precise birthplace, so this account does not settle that point. His family’s hospitality business formed part of his early environment. His agency biography records rejections in Spain and Milan before his international breakthrough.[1][2]

A New York turning point

New York became the turning point in 2001. Connections with Matt Albiani, François Nars and Michael Thompson were followed by Banana Republic and L’Oréal work in 2002. A look that had met resistance elsewhere found opportunity in another market. His early experience also involved adapting to work before he was comfortable speaking English.[1][3]

Louis Vuitton and wider recognition

A 2003 Louis Vuitton campaign with Jennifer Lopez increased his international visibility. Work connected to Loewe, Chanel, Armani and Ermenegildo Zegna followed. The well-known campaign was a breakthrough, but later commissions established a sustained career spanning advertisements, magazines and runway work.[1][3]

The language of fragrance

Chanel Allure Homme Sport is an important part of his fragrance advertising record. Unlike a lookbook, fragrance imagery must suggest an atmosphere through movement, place and character. Comparing that work with fashion campaigns shows how a model can interpret different brand identities. It also provides context for his later interest in acting.[1][3]

Film and series work

After acting study, Velencoso appeared in the 2012 film Fin. Television work includes B&B, Edha, Velvet Colección and Élite, across Spanish and Argentine productions. In a 2024 interview around Regreso a Las Sabinas, he discussed the challenge of being judged as an actor rather than only as a familiar model.[1][4]

Working on a brand

He also became involved in OOTO, launched in 2022. Interviews describe input into campaign concepts, photographers, stylists and locations, expanding his role beyond appearing in the imagery. A 2026 interview discussed a new collection and a Madrid store. Modeling, brand involvement and acting therefore coexist in his later career.[2][5]

Recent professional priorities

In May 2026 Velencoso said film and television projects were his priority. The interview also discussed a shoot in the Canary Islands and OOTO commitments. Acting is therefore a sustained strand rather than a brief detour. His public career traces changing professional priorities from early rejection to international campaigns and work beyond modeling.[5]
