Changing the balance after 2017
Alessandra Ambrosio was born in Erechim, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, in 1981. She began modeling classes at twelve and entered the profession through regional selection and photographic work. Childhood interest did not instantly produce international success: posture, walking and on-camera experience had to be learned. Brazilian publications and international agencies widened her opportunities. Her beginnings form an individual path within the growing international prominence of Brazilian models in the 2000s.
Ambrosio concluded regular Angel work after the 2017 show, a change distinct from retiring from modeling as a whole. Red-carpet appearances, editorials and other advertising continued, alongside her own clothing projects. A 2021 Mexican Vogue interview discussed life and work after forty. Treating the end of one long brand relationship as the end of all professional activity would obscure those choices. Accumulated experience became material for articulating personal style and business interests.
