Sabrina Carpenter

Career & style

Sabrina Carpenter became known as Maya Hart in Girl Meets World and released her debut album Eyes Wide Open in 2015. Emails I Can’t Send and Short n’ Sweet belong to later stages of a recording career developed alongside acting. This sequence matters because her public image changed across television, early performances and larger concert productions.

The accompanying photographs allow a comparison between an awards appearance and a live setting. Look first at proportion: the distance between neckline and hem, the silhouette of the shoulders and the way decoration reads from farther away. This is an editorial way to examine stagewear, not a claim about the maker of an unidentified garment. Keeping photographs attached to their documented occasions prevents different career periods from being collapsed into one look.
