Career & style
Olivia Rodrigo worked in television, including Bizaardvark and High School Musical: The Musical: The Series, before focusing on her recording career. Sour in 2021 and Guts in 2023 connected intimate songwriting with forceful pop and rock arrangements. Those musical contrasts are a useful starting point for looking at the visual presentation of her performances.
Concert photographs make the relationship between clothing and gesture visible. Consider how a fitted top, a short hem or a pair of boots changes the outline of a body holding a microphone or moving across a stage. The aim is to read a complete performance image, not to reconstruct a shopping list from an unverified photograph. Dated images also help distinguish one tour’s visual language from another.
