Kristen Stewart’s early work included Panic Room, before the Twilight films brought international recognition. She subsequently built a career across independent cinema and larger productions, including Clouds of Sils Maria, Personal Shopper and Spencer. The movement between these projects is important: her public identity cannot be reduced to the character that first made her famous.
Fashion enters the record both as work and as a film subject. Chanel announced her for its Western-inspired collection campaign in 2013, photographed by Karl Lagerfeld. In Personal Shopper, clothing is bound to the protagonist’s employment and the unsettling atmosphere of the story.
