Anya Taylor-Joy grew up across Buenos Aires and London after being born in Miami. The Witch brought her breakthrough in 2015, followed by work including Split, Thoroughbreds and Emma. The Queen’s Gambit introduced her to a wider television audience in 2020. Her later roles include The Menu and Furiosa, projects with very different relationships between the body, costume and environment.
Her fashion work has included associations with Dior, Tiffany & Co. and Viktor & Rolf. These should be read as particular professional projects rather than a timeless list of current positions. Her screen roles also provide an instructive contrast: the carefully ordered appearance of a period character is unlike the physical demands of an action film. Festival portraits sit between those worlds, presenting the actor rather than either fictional identity.
